Dr. Sandra Belmont is one of the first surgeons in the U.S. that worked with the FDA protocols in the study of the excimer laser for the correction of nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism (PRK and LASIK). She is a fellowship-trained corneal specialist. Dr. Belmont completed her training under the preceptorship of Dr. Richard Troutman at Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital in 1983 where she is an attending physician. She is the honored recipient of the 2004 Richard C.
