Easy Pose
Sanskrit Name: Sukhasana
The Easy Pose, often referred to as Savasana, is a yoga position that promotes relaxation for both the body and mind.
To practice it, sit cross-legged on your mat with your right shin and foot positioned in front. Gradually lean forward as far as you comfortably can, extending your arms in front of you. Hold this forward bend for five breaths, then return to an upright position. Switch legs and repeat the process.
Benefits of ease pose
Easy Pose significantly enhances the rotation of the hip joints, strengthens the legs, upper back, and shoulders. It also promotes mental calmness and is excellent for centering oneself. Primary benefits include opening the hips, straightening the back, and fostering a sense of tranquility.
Key Points:
Focus on your sit bones, extend your spine, keep the shoulders relaxed, and gently lower your chin. Lengthen the back of your neck. If you experience any discomfort in your knees, you can slightly lift them or use a block for support.
Cautions:
Avoid this pose if you have knee or ankle injuries, or sciatica.
